PAT Testing
Envo Facilities was appointed to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) for NHS operations located within Manor Walks Shopping Centre. This work ensured that all electrical appliances in use across clinical and administrative areas met essential electrical safety standards, helping maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
The Challenge
- ▸ Conduct PAT testing on up to 1,000 portable electrical appliances.
- ▸ Identify faulty or unsafe equipment requiring repair or removal.
- ▸ Document all tested assets with pass/fail results and certification.
- ▸ Carry out works safely within an active NHS setting.
- ▸ Perform testing outside normal hours to avoid operational disruption.
Our Approach
Comprehensive PAT Testing
Our certified electrical testing team completed a full inspection and testing programme covering up to 1,000 appliances. This included visual inspections for wear, damage, and safety concerns, electrical tests including earth continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity checks, labelling of all appliances with pass/fail indicators and test dates, and creation of a full digital asset report for NHS compliance records.
Out-of-Hours Service
To minimise disruption to NHS operations and ensure uninterrupted access to essential equipment, all testing was scheduled outside standard working hours. This allowed our team to work efficiently while keeping clinical areas functional and safe.
Results Delivered
- Up to 1,000 appliances fully tested and certified safe for continued use.
- Early identification of equipment requiring repair or replacement.
- Improved compliance with statutory electrical safety regulations.
- Zero disruption to NHS staff, operations, or patient flow.
- Clear documentation provided for future audits and compliance checks.
Our Environmental Commitment
As part of the Envo approach, all materials were handled responsibly and waste was recycled where possible. We minimised disruption to the facility and worked in accordance with all environmental and sustainability guidelines.
